St. Lucia Hotel, Resort & Villa Reviews
Stonefield Estate Villa Resort 11/12/2003
Reviewers Rating: Excellent
I just got back from a week long wedding/honetmoon at Stonefield Estate Villa Resort. It was like a dream come true.

We went with an ocean view villa. You get a kitchen, a bedroom, living room, garden shower, and a huge porch with a hammock overlooking the Petit Piton (mountain) and sea. The view is so spectacular you never want to leave. The villas don't have air conditioning, and your breeze comes from celing fans and wooden slat windows with screens. We had a lizard or two in our villa, but bugs were really not a problem. Just bring insect repellant with you if you decide to to a rain forest tour or do some other type of hiking activity.

The resort is in the hills overlooking the ocean, so there isn't a beach right off of the property. But they have a shuttle service which takes you to the Hilton next door which does have a a beautiful beach. We loved it. It gave us a chance to experience two resorts, and if you are a diver like we are, you will like to know that the best diving is located in that area of St. Lucia and the Hilton had a dive shop.

The only thing about Stonefield is that they don't have air conditioning and the food service is slow. Plus, either you go with the shuttle times or pay for a taxi, which is expensive in St. Lucia. Also, there isn't night life on that part of the island, so besides a live band playing at the resort 2 times a week, you will have to take taxis to get to other resorts with things going on. We loved the peace and quiet though. The resort is family owned and the personal attention your receive is great. They knew our names after the first day. And I love how the resort makes you feel like you are part of the beautiful nature surrounding you. You really get away from it all. Plus, we got married there, and 2 hours before the ceremony I was swimming in the pool. Talk about non-stressful. It was perfect.
