Shoal Bay Beach Hotel 02/21/02

We stayed at this facility last April and are returning in 6 weeks! I can't say enough about this place. Don't be discouraged-looks are deceiving. At first, it appears to be a "motel" type of place. Upon arrival and a very brief tour- you will be pleasantly surprised. The accomodations are nice- cleanliness is the most important factor to us. It is not a new facility, but,appears to have been updated recently. Our "room" was a second floor ocean front suite with a spectacular view, well supplied kitchen, large bedroom, large bathroom (with stand up shower- no tub), spacious living and dining area and air conditioning throughout. Shoal Bay is arguably the most spectacular beach on Anguilla. The hotel provides guests with beach chairs, small tables, and large umbrellas. The pool is quite nice- new and clean. During the "low" season, there are not many people on the beach or in the pool. I think that there may have been only 15 other people staying there during our trip. There are several bar/pub type places right on Shoal Bay within walking distance of the hotel. The accomodations are nice-cleanliness is the most important factor to us.
