British Virgin Islands
Saba Rock 01/11/02
Reviewers Rating: Great
Saba Rock is open for lunch and dinner. Recommended items on the lunch menu include the tacos (chicken, fish or beef) and sandwiches (burgers, grilled chicken, fish). Served with a pile of french fries. Yum! Watch the wind surfers and BEYC sailors while you dine... Dinner is either fish of the day or the buffet ($25), which is a great deal in North Sound (compare to price and quality of others in the area). The salad bar includes interesting items such as smoked oysters and quail eggs, along with the standard lettuce and trimmings. Pate and cheese board, too. The entrees vary each night- we were offered leg of lamb, ham, roast beef (carved to order) as well as chicken, ravioli and some of the best stewed conch I have ever had. Sides included potato, rice and veg. Chocolate mousse for dessert was terrific (also key lime pie). If you are on charter, treat yourself- there is entertainment every night, too. Oh, yes, if you stay on a Saba Rock mooring ($20), you get free water (up to 250 gallons) and a bag of ice! If you are staying in one of the Saba Rock rooms- lucky you!
